I met her when she was well into her eighties and
have her baby shoes and the necklace she was wearing then.

This was a commission to paint the son of their hosts,
after friends had been on holiday in Turkey. 


 
 

In this portrait I combined studies of the parents as they were at that time,
with images of their children when they were younger.
